1. Where are Engel Fires made?

Engel Fires are proudly designed and manufactured in Whakatane, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand.

 2. Where do you deliver the Engel Fire?

Our preferred freight forwarder is Mainstream who delivers nationwide throughout New Zealand, this can either be to a depot closest to you or door to door, we can arrange a quote for you when the fire is ready to be dispatched.  (Please be aware that if a Hiab is required this will be an additional cost).  Alternatively, you can collect from us here in Whakatane.

 3. How much does an Engel Fire cost?

There are 3 different models of fires, the Engel Master, Engel Master Offset, and Engel Inbuilt, all specifications are available on our website in the ‘Our Fires’ section – Specifications.

 4. Are there any hidden costs? 

Pricing for all models includes all the accessories for you ready to cook, i.e. rotisserie motor, shaft and forks, drip tray with stainless hangers and laser thermometer. 

 5. Are there any installation costs?

As the weight of the fires ranges from between 350-450kgs, the installation is easily handled by 3-4 people.  In some circumstances a Hiab may be required, we are happy to assist in helping you find professionals to do this for you.

 6. What are the Payment options?

Our normal payment terms are 50% deposit on confirmation of order and the balance payable prior to collection or shipping.

 7. How long does it take to get my hands on an Engel Fire?

Our normal lead time is around 6-8 weeks, we can give you a more definitive time when placing you order.

 8. Do I need a specially prepared surface for my Engel Fire?

The only thing we insist upon is that the fire sits on no less than a 100mm non-combustible surface, i.e. tiles, slate, concrete etc. 

 9. Do I need a permit or council approval to have an Engel Fire at my property?

As the Engel Fire is primarily an ‘outdoor cooking device’ not solely an outdoor decorative fire, most councils do not require a permit to install.

 10. How close can my Engel Fire sit to a fence, boundary or the side of the house?

The minimum clearance required for a fence, boundary or side of the house is 100mm.

 11. Who installs my Engel Fire?

You can install your fire, just be aware there is a bit of heavy lifting involved.

 12. How much does an Engel Fire weigh?

Approximate weight for the Engel Master is 450kgs. For detailed specifications see ‘Our Fires’ section – Specifications.

 13. How tall is the Engel Fire?

The height of the fire from the base of the firebox to the elevated point of the chimney is 3570mm.

 14. Once installed, can I move my Engel Fire?

Yes, all you need to do is remove the chimney, take the fire bricks out of the firebox, place in new position and reassemble.

 15. What can I cook on my Engel Fire?
